Upgrade Instructions : From 4.00 To 4.22
This page contains detailed upgrade instructions for users of
Activ E-Book Compiler, who have downloaded version
4.00 and wish to upgrade to the latest 4.22 version.
If you have not
previously downloaded Activ E-Book Compiler simply
download the current version.
If you are looking for upgrade instructions from a version other than
version 4.00 - then click here.
If you have Registered version 4.00 of Activ E-Book Compiler:
All upgrades to Activ E-Book Compiler are FREE to registered users.
Please follow this
procedure to get upgrade to the latest 4.22 of Activ E-Book Compiler:
1. Do not uninstall the old version of Activ E-Book Compiler until
the upgrade to the latest version is complete. This way you can continue
creating E-Books with the old version until you've completed the upgrade.
2. Go to the download page, and
download the current 4.22 version.
3. The new version 4.22 should automatically recognize that you have
registered with 4.00 - and should not require a new registration
key. If you have problems or questions, please contact us by e-mail at
webmaster@ebookcompiler.com
4. All our saved projects that you created with 4.00 should load with
absolutely no problems in version 4.22. The only thing you need to
be aware of is that the path to the bitmap splash screens and the
custom icons will need to be modified to point to the 4.22 directory, if
you decide to uninstall 4.00. You can edit the splash screen path by
on the dialog available by clicking Start Up... on the Edit menu.
You can edit the icon path, by clicking Icon... on the Edit menu
and simply selecting the icon of your choice.
5. You may now (optional) uninstall version 4.00 if you want:
i. Start the Windows Control Panel.
ii. Double click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
iii. Select Activ E-Book Compiler 4.00 in the list.
iv. Click the Add/Remove button (to uninstall version 4.00).
If you have NOT Registered yet:
